The Artful Black & White Landscape Photography Workshop

March 21, 2025  |  Death Valley, California

Chuck Kimmerle and I completed yet another highly successful Artful Black & White Landscape Photography Workshop on March 14. We have the best jobs in the world; we get to work with great people who are passionate photographers excited about expanding their creativity and evolving their image making. What makes me and Chuck uniquely qualified to teach this medium is our history: we are both working photographers and actively exhibiting artists who each have many decades behind the camera; many decades of working (not dabbling) in the medium of black & white photography; and many decades of practical experience working in the art of photography. It's artful because the medium is not an afterthought stripped of color - the entire image should be a creative and conscious decision making process. Chuck and I enjoy teaching and watching the light bulbs click for our students. We love to see them creatively evolve, most often within just the first few days of a workshop. We talk about photographic art and discuss many ways to make it. Most of all, we get to have loads of fun with our students, in extraordinary settings, teaching a medium that we are both passionate and excited about.

If all of this this sounds like a good fit for your experience and desire for growth, please consider joining us December 2-6, 2025, for the next Artful Black & White Landscape Photography Workshop.
